Operating Principle
  • TDLAS (tunable diode laser absorption spectroscopy) for methane - laser-based, immune to poisoning, no oxygen required
  • Catalytic combustion for methanol - proven technology for combustible gas in the LEL range
  • Infrared (NDIR) for carbon dioxide - stable, selective, unaffected by oxygen deficiency
  • Electrochemical cells for oxygen, hydrogen sulfide, ammonia and chlorine - oxygen measured as volume percent, toxic gases at ppm-level sensitivity

Sensor Technology and Long-Term Stability
The methane variant GT-C100 uses TDLAS, a laser absorption method that requires no oxygen and is not poisoned by silicones or sulfur compounds, making it ideal for cargo and fuel-gas service. The methanol variant uses catalytic combustion for combustible gas in the LEL range, while oxygen is measured by an electrochemical cell across 0-25% volume range. Infrared measurement of carbon dioxide remains selective even with fluctuating oxygen levels, while electrochemical cells for hydrogen sulfide, ammonia and chlorine provide ppm-level sensitivity. Accuracy is ±3% FS on LEL, infrared and oxygen models, ±2% FS on ammonia and ±5% FS on hydrogen sulfide and chlorine.
Interfaces & System Integration
Concentration data is transmitted via 4-20 mA, RS485 or wireless to the AIRPPB Gas Alarm Control Cabinet, which can supervise up to 112 field detectors. The central cabinet supplies power, performs processing, raises alarms and drives fire-protection linkage.
