GAC-M20 for LNG Cargo and Fuel Tanks
Continuous sampling system designed for environments where gas releases escalate rapidly, providing immediate detection and response capabilities.
Operational Challenge
In LNG cargo and fuel tanks, gas releases escalate faster than cyclic sampling cycles can detect. Shared sensors across multiple lines introduce cross-talk and delays, while sampling cabinets with internal gas lines and pumps can become hazards if they leak.
Application On Board
The GAC-M20 is specifically engineered for LNG cargo tanks and fuel tanks—spaces where gas releases carry severe consequences. The system provides continuous rather than cyclic sampling, with individual sensors for each line and multiple protection layers within the cabinet.

Why Continuous Sampling Matters
In LNG cargo and fuel tanks, there is no acceptable delay between gas release and detection. Cyclic systems leave spaces unobserved for most of the cycle, while continuous sampling provides constant monitoring. Individual sensors eliminate cross-talk between adjacent tanks carrying different cargo states. The cabinet includes multiple safety features: flame arrestors, built-in detectors that alarm, stop pumps, and purge the interior if pipework leaks.
