Product Description
GAC-M10 Circulating-Sampling Gas Detection Cabinet
Covering 64 dispersed spaces with one sensor for ballast tanks, bilge tanks, and cargo holds
Operational Challenge
Ballast tanks, bilge tanks, and cargo holds are numerous and spread across vessels, making per-point sensors cost-prohibitive. These spaces feature high humidity and oil vapor, which degrade sensing elements and sampling lines. Despite low risk levels, monitoring remains essential for regulatory compliance and enclosed-space entry safety.
Application On Board
The GAC-M10 provides comprehensive monitoring for multiple dispersed, low-risk spaces using a single sensor, cabinet, and cable infrastructure. This circulating-sampling gas detection cabinet is specifically engineered for challenging environments with high humidity, oil vapor, and distributed monitoring points including ballast tanks, bilge tanks, and cargo holds.
Centralized sampling pumps and switching valves, controlled by a programmable logic controller, sequentially draw gas samples from each monitoring point and route them to a shared sensor for analysis, performing concentration measurement and over-limit alarming.
Installation Locations
  • Ballast tanks
  • Bilge tanks
  • Cargo holds
  • Other low-risk dispersed monitoring locations on offshore and marine installations
Key Features & Capabilities
Cyclic Sequential Sampling
One sensor services up to 64 monitoring points
Extended Pipeline Reach
Up to 400 m pipeline for long-distance sampling on large vessels
Measurement Stability
Gas source purge, auto zero calibration, manual range calibration
Distributed HMI Support
Supports up to 4 repeater units
Flexible Integration
Ethernet + RS485 (Modbus TCP/IP and Modbus RTU)
Rich Control Capability
8 channels relay output + 4 channels 4-20 mA analog output
Marine Environment Durability
IP55 protection, carbon-steel housing
Cost-Effective Coverage
Equipping sixty-four separate spaces with individual sensors is rarely justified for low-risk environments. The GAC-M10 addresses compliance requirements and enclosed-space entry checks with a single sensor, cabinet, and cable infrastructure, making it the ideal solution for ballast tanks, bilge tanks, and cargo holds.
For genuinely high-risk spaces, the GAC-M20 with dedicated sensors per point provides the appropriate solution. AIRPPB supplies both systems, enabling risk-appropriate system selection rather than catalogue-driven decisions.
